Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive...

Price of gas as of yester
day: $1.17.4/litre. Although the May long weekend (just passed) "officially" heralds the start of summer, the weather's the shits right now and the really heavy tourist season won't start for another few weeks. How high can it go? I don't think the oil companies will stop gouging us until they're ordered to do so by governmental fiat. A cap of around $1.10/litre would be acceptable to most people and make the government look good.... $1.10/litre acceptable??? I never thought I'd see the day. Canada has more oil than almost anyone else in the world, save Saudi Arabia (invasion, I mean "liberation", plans are no doubt in progress at this very moment). So one has to wonder... why is it costing us so much? Could we not gouge foreigners instead, and give the domestic buyers a break?

Keep on rockin' in the free world...
