Candy and Flowers
Thousands of Iraqis took to the streets of Baghdad on Friday to rally in support of Hezbollah in Lebanon. They burned American flags and chanted "Death to America, Death to Israel" and "Allah Allah give victory to (Hezbollah leader) Nasrallah". Even some Sunni Muslims participated in similar smaller rallies all over the middle east -- Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Iran and Saudi Arabia -- but the rally in Iraq was by far the largest. And at least 5 members of the Iraqi parliament attended the demonstration.
Amazing. 3 and 1/2 years after the start of the war in Iraq, this is the consensus of the middle east: Death to America, Death to Israel. Where are the candy and flowers? Or does "candy and flowers" in Arabic mean "bombs and burning flags"? Heckuvajob, George. You da man.
