White House: 0, Civil Liberties: 1

A federal judge ruled today that the government's warrantless wiretapping program is unconstitutional, and ordered an immediate halt to it. The White House said it "couldn't disagree more" with the ruling.

All I can add here is "Woohoo!". It's about time somebody started standing up to those bullies. My hat's off to the ACLU and the journalists, lawyers and scholars on whose behalf the ACLU filed the suit. Well done.
