Bush, "The Path to 9/11" and bullshit without end.

Every time I think I've seen the ultimate bullshit play by the Bush administration, they unload a steaming pile even stenchier than the last one.

After weeks of steadily-mounting 9/11 blather topped off by the release of ABC's miniseries "The Path to 9/11", the white house has asked the network to interrupt the last hour of its partisan crapfest to make way for a speech Bush is giving from the oval office. For fuck sake. The movie's already been widely panned as a dishonest propaganda piece, yet Bush sees it as a fitting intro for more of his mealy-mouthed fucking proselytizing about the "war on terra".

It's bizarre that Bush would choose to address the public this way, but it's easy to see the intent. Positioned as almost a part of the program, his speech would give it undue credibility, offsetting the widespread calls of bullshit about it. This isn't to say Bush is especially credible, but his appearance almost within the movie would blur the distinction between fiction and reality. The positioning of the speech is also an attempt to associate Bush's image with images of the event, recreating a time when his popularity was high. It's subliminal manipulation in its basest form; breathtakingly, stunningly Orwellian in its intention to manufacture reality.
