Why are they smiling?
Maybe it's just me, but George W and his puppetmaster Karl Rove seem to look pretty happy lately. A lot happier than they should be, given the almost-daily scandals that have been erupting for the last month. With only 3 weeks remaining until the midterm elections, these guys shouldn't be smiling -- they should be preparing for an early retirement. Corruption scandals bursting out everywhere, the Foley situation (in which they were clearly complicit), and the recent revelation that they're totally playing their loyal religious conservative base for fools. These guys should be shitting major bricks, but... they're smiling. They're happy, they're confident. Maybe it has something to do with this.
So far it's only allegations, but if the alleged second perv is a democrat, that's all the GOP needs to reclaim the moronic "moral values" voters that they'd all but lost over the Foley scandal. This is right out of the Rove playbook, starting untrue rumours and innuendo to make an opponent look bad -- or in this case, make themselves look not quite so bad in comparison. Hitting on pages? Hey, everybody's doing it, not just us!
On the other hand, this new guy the page board is discussing could be a republican. But if that was the case, why would Bush and Rove be smiling?
