Obama strikes back
Today Senator Barack Obama gave a good swift backhander to the idiots responsible for perpetuating last week's "madrassa-muslim-yada yada" smear campaign against him, specifically some of the reporters at Fox "News". A few days ago, the rumour that Obama might be hiding a supposed "radical muslim" past was reported by right wing litterbox liner "Insightmag". Insight also suggested it came from Hillary Clinton's campaign, they being eager to discredit Obama as competition in the presidential race. Clinton denied it and the Obama story was subsequently debunked by CNN, and now the senator himself has responded by writing to faux news. In part, the memo to Fox said:
"If Doocy or the staff at Fox and Friends had taken [time] to check their facts, or simply made a call to his office, they would have learned that Senator Obama was not educated in a Madrassa, was not raised as a Muslim, and was not raised by his father – an atheist Obama met once in his life before he died."
It was obvious from the start that this little play, a "two-fer" pre-emptive strike against both Obama and Clinton, was right out of the shit-encrusted, guts-and-semen-stained pages of the Karl Rove Manual of Slimy Political Manoeuvers. Whether Rove himself was personally involved is a non-issue; it was a roll in the same political pig-pen he inhabits. Nice to see the toilet get backed up and splatter all over their faces -- it won't be long before anyone with a shred of decency will be reluctant to call themselves a republican.
