BYU students protest Cheney

Yeaaaaahh! At Brigham Young University in Utah, more angry students showed up to protest the decision to have Dick Cheney deliver the commencement address later this month. Some of the signs they carried:

"Cheney = Lies, War, Torture, Corruption."
"Dick Cheney: The best reason not to impeach Bush!"
"Subversive liberal anti-establishment anarchists? But I'm a Republican!"
"Cheney and Voldemort 2008."

The protest is astonishing, considering that BYU is one of the most conservative schools in what is arguably the most conservative state in the union: almost 72% voted for Bush in 2004. These aren't little hippies in tie dye and dreads out there protesting, they're Young Republican types in dockers and rugby shirts, the kind who never get into political protests because it's usually their side that's being protested. Yet even these clean-cut young conservatives have had one too many steaming loads of bullshit shoveled on them by the bush administration, and they're waking up and speaking out:

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their mind
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
