This is a graveyard in which lie fallen soldiers from the Battle of the Somme, 1916.
My great-grandfather was killed at the Somme, so for Remembrance Day I wanted to post a picture relating to that particular battle. I was thinking more along the lines of a photo of guys in action, but I chose this one of a veterans' cemetary on the Somme because it seemed to have a message that spans the decades: the three graves in the foreground are those of a Christian, a Muslim and a Jew, who fought, died and are buried side-by-side.Lest we forget.
