At this time of year, we're all inundated with donaton requests from a plethora of charities. Those who are able to give do so, but most of us are limited in how much we can give and it usually means making a choice. This year there's another great charity choice, Heifer International, a unique charity that addresses world hunger and poverty by giving "renewable" gifts like food-producing animals. Heifer International works on a "pay-it-forward" concept, where recipients share the fruits of their gift -- ie, a family who receives a dairy cow makes an agreement to share the milk with other families in need. Literally a gift that keeps giving.
