Today our favourite religious right whackjob, Chuck McVety, issued a spittle-flecked screed declaring that "Canada is now officially a homosexual country". This little outburst was initiated by a gorgeous Norval Morrisseau painting with the sinister title "Androgyny", installed last month at the Governor-General's residence at Rideau Hall:
"On September 18, 2008 a new artwork was installed in the Rideau Hall Ballroom. Created by world-renowned Canadian Aboriginal artist Norval Morrisseau, the painting, entitled Androgyny, replaces Charlottetown Revisited..." [...]From that, McVety goes right off his rocker to arrive at this pretzel of a reaction to the painting:
In Androgyny, Morrisseau represents the Ojibway shaman’s world view, showing a thriving and bountiful world in which all the diverse elements are in perfect balance."
"The Governor General’s website describes the giant 20 foot mural as follows: “In the Okanagan, as in many Native tribes, the order of life learning is that you are born without sex and as a child, through learning, you move toward full capacity as either male or female. Only when appropriately prepared for the role do you become a man or woman. The natural progression into parenthood provides immense learning from each other, the love, compassion and cooperation necessary to maintain family and community. Finally as an elder you emerge as both male and female, a complete human, with all skills and capacities complete.” Does the Governor General actually believe that in order to be a complete human you must be both male and female?"Whoa, that's a pretty impressive segue: from a painting to Gays to Nazis to the Tibetan Book of the Dead... what, no Morgentaler?
"...Many universities now talk about “self identified men and women” suggesting that it is discriminatory to label someone male or female unless they chose to identify themselves as a specific gender. Such political correctness has slithered all the way to the top, and now a mural depicting this insanity adorns the official seat of power of the Country of Canada.
This concept is not new. Adolph Hitler’s Nazi Party appointed Dr. Carl Jung as their head of the International General Medical Society for Psychotherapy. He taught the concept that in the uncouncious of man is anima (femininity) and in the uncouncious of woman is animus (masculinity). Dr. Jung westernized this concept from the teachings of the Dali Lama in the Tibetan Book of the Dead."
In closing the spittle really starts to fly, and -- holy fucking shit! Stand back!:

Seriously, the only conclusion I can draw from this deranged little diatribe is that Chuck is "officially" obsessed, and that obsession is about to blow his closet door right off its hinges in an explosion of spit, sweat and semen and a great puff of greasy, stenchy smoke. Move away people, give him room!
