D'oh!
Those home-skoolers at Conservapedia have got me beat. I'd heard of the Ionosphere, the Mesosphere, the Stratosphere etc., but I wasn't familiar with the Homosphere and the Heterosphere. The terms sounded questionable, and obviously caused some confusion as they were being considered for deletion. But they're real and we've learned our lesson: use the Google!
