What a shame. Amanda Marcotte of Pandagon has resigned from the Edwards campaign. The fundies win: it took the bastards a week, but they got her to quit.
After Marcotte was hired by Edwards, the Catholic league got their shitstained Depends in a twist, saying she's "potty-mouthed and insulting to people of faith". (I'd take that as a compliment, but I suppose it could be a liability when you're working for a presidential nominee in Jesusland.) The right-wing blogs have been having a jackoff fest with this all week; there was immense pressure on Edwards to fire her; Edwards, to his credit, refused, but I guess the noise just got to be too much. For the good of the campaign (and probably her own sanity at this point), she quit today.
It's a loss for Edwards; she's a fantastic writer. What a bunch of bullshit.
