Portugal legalizes abortion

What a great way to celebrate International Women's Day. Last night Portugal's government voted overwhelmingly to legalize abortion up to the 10th week of pregnancy, a major step for a country where women's freedom has been held in check by backward abortion laws. This move was expected after a last month's referendum that failed due to insufficient turnout, but where a majority voted to legalize abortion. Woohoo! Mulheres dos felicitações de Portugal!* (*Congratulations, women of Portugal!)
