Too Much Sun

It happens every year. After 2 weeks of non-stop rain, we get a beautiful sunny (dry) day. Naturally, with all that rain, the grass has grown about 2 feet, so on the first dry day it's imperative to get it (the damn grass) under control. On a small acreage, there's a lot of grass and a lot of time spent pushing a mower... all day sweating in the sun. Later, I look in the mirror and a crispy critter leers back out at me. How did I get so burnt? I wore sunscreen.

There's something weird going on out there. I used to be able to stay in the sun all day, hardly ever getting burned. Now, after just an hour or so, I can literally feel my face burning, the same feeling as standing too close to a bonfire. Weird indeed.
