That's 1 for Prime Minister Steve

Canadian PM Stephen Harper has said he's not in favour of sending Canadian troops to Lebanon on a peace-keeping mission. Harper says the situation needs to be resolved within the sovereign states involved, and peacekeeping would be better done by the governments of other middle eastern countries. For once, he's got it right; for one thing, right now there is no peace to be kept, and it doesn't look like there will be anytime soon. And since Harper's sided firmly with Israel, our troops would be seen as enemies by Hezbollah, not a neutral peacekeeping force. We've had enough 'collateral damage' from this conflict, let's not put guys with targets on their backs over there too.
