Compassionate Conservatism
"TAYLORS, S.C. (AP) -- Sen. Sam Brownback, campaigning for president Saturday before the National Catholic Men's Conference, questioned whether rape victims should get abortions.
"Rape is terrible. Rape is awful. Is it made any better by killing an innocent child? Does it solve the problem for the woman that's been raped?" the Kansas Republican asked at the St. Joseph's Covenant Keepers gathering."
This turd-who-would-be-king also thinks that incest is insufficient cause for a woman (or girl) to have an abortion. Instead, if it were up to Brownback and his despicable ilk, women who've already been victimized would be victimized again, and again and again ad infinitum, as they carry the product of that victimization around with them for the better part of a year. Then they part with it, and their slates wiped clean, get on with their lives as if nothing happened. As if. (Irony with a twist of shit-smeared lime that Brownback's sexist screed was "delivered", as it were, to a roomful of men. Not a uterus in the bunch!)
Hey, women should be able to carry the product of a vicious assault if that turns them on. But those less into Martyr Culture should have the option to cleanse themselves of their trauma in every way, including the disposal of any packages their assailant may have left behind. Any rapist-generated little shrimp-thing that tried to glom onto my sleek interior would be saying hello to the business end of a vacuum aspirator post haste. Then and only then could the healing begin.
As a sidebar, it's revealing that Brownback and the rest of the anti-choice nutters seem to be okay with incest. Could this explain the 30% of americans who still support Bush?
