Up is down, war is peace...

... and Sarah Palin has been cleared of any legal wrongdoing.

It's already common knowledge that Palin lies a lot, but now she's wandering into serious DSM-IV territory. Taste the crazy:

"It's fair to say that Trooper-Gate hasn't exactly burnished Sarah Palin's reputation for honesty. And in a conference call she gave Saturday to respond to the legislature's report on the affair released Friday night, that reputation took another hit.

Palin opened her remarks by declaring:

I'm very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing ... any hint of any kind of unethical activity there.
But of course, it's simply untrue that the report cleared Palin of legal wrongdoing or unethical activity." (emphasis mine)
Can you say "narcissistic personality disorder"? How about "fucked up"?

She went there

Flop sweat:

"Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin expanded her attack on Democrat Barack Obama's character Monday to include his relationship with an incendiary former pastor as well as his ties to 1960s-era radical Bill Ayers.

In the process, Palin toned down her description of the Obama-Ayers relationship after her weekend remarks were criticized as exaggerated, but at the same time she embarked on a discussion of Obama's relationship with his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., which Republican presidential candidate John McCain had signaled he did not want to be a part of his campaign."

With the addition of the Ayers non-story to their political narrative, the McCain campaign has sunk to a new nadir in the final frenetic weeks leading up to the election. Trying to forge a connection between Obama and Ayers' past radicalism is pure theatre of the absurd. And hey -- does Palin really want to talk about "terrorism" given her own much more substantial link to an Alaska secessionist party, that being considered, well, you know, uh... treason? Well, okay.

As for Reverend Wright, HAHAHAHAHA! Bring it the fuck on, SaWah. Because while you're doing that, the polls are doing this.

More of this, please

Smokin' Joe Biden on the Wall Street meltdown and the McCain campaign's lies, just now on the Today Show:

"Disappointing" -- that's the word.

New McCain Wiki page

Ha!   The McCain campaign has been bullshitting so copiously in this ugly election season that the Dems have helpfully set up a Wiki page to keep track of it all. Hopefully someone will do the same for Lyin' Sarah... not giving her lies a page of their own is a little sexist, I think.

The media gets it

They should be screaming about it instead of leaving it to political cartoonists, op-ed writers and bloggers.

UPDATE: Now this is more like it. US media, please take note.

UPDATE II: Oh, yes!!! Keep it going!

(cartoon from WaPo)

That'll leave a mark

You know your campaign has sunk to a new nadir of putrescence when even the Sultan of Sleaze and Lord of the Lies Karl Rove says you're lying too much:
"ROVE SAYS MCCAIN HAS GONE 'ONE STEP TOO FAR'.... Karl Rove was reluctant to say it, and he tried really hard not to say it, but he conceded on Fox News this morning that John McCain's ads aren't exactly accurate." [...]

"But host Chris Wallace asked, "All right, for fair game, what does McCain do that goes one step too far?"

Rove responded, "McCain has similarly gone one step too far, attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100% truth test."

Ouch!

You have to wonder what Rove's game is (because there absolutely has to be one) -- maybe putting a little lipstick on the swinish legacy of the Bush Administration?

Shrieek!

Just in case anyone was wondering how savage, sick and twisted the McCain campaign will get in the coming weeks -- EEEK!!! Won't someone think of the children?!?!??

Of course the GOP's nefarious new ad doesn't mention the fact that Obama has already said:
"...he "does not support teaching explicit sex education to children in kindergarten" . . . 'Nobody's suggesting that kindergartners are going to be getting information about sex in the way that we think about it,' Obama said. 'If they ask a teacher 'where do babies come from,' that providing information that the fact is that it's not a stork is probably not an unhealthy thing.'"" (emphasis mine)
Oops.
