After years of avoiding it, Dick Cheney finally got to see some war action close-up. On his double super secret visit to Afghanistan today, a suicide bomber attacked just outside the base where Cheney was staying:

"BAGRAM, Afghanistan — A suicide bomber attacked the entrance to the main U.S. military base in Afghanistan on Tuesday during a visit by U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney, killing up to 23 people and wounding 20 more.

A Taliban official said the attack was directed at Mr. Cheney.

Mr. Cheney told reporters he heard “a loud boom” and that the Secret Service informed him of the attack and that officials moved him to a bomb shelter on Bagram.

“As the situation settled down and they had a better sense of what was going on, I went back to my room," he said"... Yeah, but they left out "and changed my pants".

For sure old Deadeye immediately went Code Brown in his Depends -- although he revels in sending other people off to lose life and limb in war, his own gutlessness is well documented. It would be sweet irony if the chickenhawk bastard responsible for so many lost lives, who's never even served let alone seen combat, finally bought the farm in a war zone.
