As a brother & sister in Christ...

...don't ever go against the Family. Ever.

Republican congressman Doug Lamborn has apologized for leaving threatening voice mails with two of his Colorado constituents who sent a letter to the local newspaper complaining about him. In their letter to the editor, Jonathon and Anna Bartha complained in about the hypocrisy of Lamborn accepting a contribution from the International Game Technology PAC when he was supposedly anti-gambling. Lamborn then left two voice mails saying there would be "consequences" if the Barthas didn't withdraw the letter:

"According to the Denver Post, in the voice mails, Lamborn implores the couple to meet with him to discuss “blatant, wrong” statements in the their letter, at one point appealing to them as “a brother and sister in Christ.”

“I would like to get together with you and show this to you and appeal to you as a brother and sister in Christ,” Lamborn said in one voice mail. “You didn’t give me that opportunity but I am happy to overlook that and deal with you on that level because I think that is the right thing to do and show you where you made a blatant, wrong statement.”

Then, however, the voice mails take a more aggressive tone. “Now, there are consequences to this kind of thing, but I would like to work with you in a way that is best for everyone here concerned. So please call me at your earliest convenience. It is now 2:40 on Saturday afternoon.”"

Hahahaha! "...so if you don't want the cops pulling you out of the trunk of a car at the airport, call me by 2:55."

Somewhat amusingly, oh okay, gut-splitting hilariously, the Barthas are members of that arbiter of all that's good and godly, Focus on the Family. Think these nitwits are finally getting the message that the Rethuglicans are just using them for their votes?
