Apple introduces the World's Thinnest Laptop:
SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - Apple chief executive Steve Jobs on Tuesday unveiled an ultra-slim MacBook Air laptop computer that he billed as the world's leanest laptop.

In trademark theatrical style at the Macworld Expo opening in San Francisco, Jobs slid the laptop from a brown envelope typically used for inter-office mail.

A packed audience of notoriously cultish "Macintosh faithful" whistled, hooted and cheered for the laptop which came with a price tag of 1,799 dollars.

"Notoriously cultish"? Well, why not?

Firefox again?

What the? Maybe I better watch it... after numerous posts on religious right nuttiness over the last few days, the Flying Spaghetti Monster smote my mac a second time. All three browsers freezing and hanging, BSOD, kernel panic, mayday mayday.

I was unable to isolate the cause of the problem for sure, so after much diagnostic frustration I gave up and formatted the fucker last night. Auugghhh. Even with backups I still managed to lose some stuff. Anyway, not important. But this is: when I downloaded Firefox I immediately got the same problem again, freezing crashing etc. When I uninstalled FF, it seems to fix the problem, knock on wood.

It's the newest version, 2.0.0.7. Anyone else getting this? Is it just FF on Mac? Or *gasp* is it my computer? (Although, the latter wouldn't be the end of the world, then I could justify launching an assault on the plastic with one of these.)

New iMac! New iMac! New iMac!

The perhaps not "new" but "redesigned" iMac was released last week, and I'm afraid... I'm committing the sin of coveting... oh shit...! I'm doomed.

Look how beautiful. The case is brushed aluminum(!) now, replacing the white plastic. and the profile looks at least 1/2 an inch thinner. Best of all it's way more powerful -- Intel Core 2 processor, and packs up to 4 GBs of RAM. Oooooh. Screen sizes are 20" and 24"... ahhhhh... mine is 17", a mere midget in comparison...

Somebody stop me.
