Probably not a good plan
Arrgh, this made my stomach turn over a little.
With all the flag-draped coffins coming back from Iraq, recruiting for the all-volunteer US military is becoming more and more difficult these days. So much so that they've relaxed their standards to the point where "large numbers of neo-nazis and skinhead extremists" have managed to infiltrate the military. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I think it sounds like a bad idea to gather up a bunch of whacked-out white supremacist nutcases, arm them to the teeth, and send them to a country full of dark-skinned, arabic-speaking, non-christians. If this is the Bush administration's latest plan for winning Iraqi hearts and minds, they better go back to the drawing board, fast. Or maybe it'll take a few more incidents like this one to get the Pentagon to start culling the cretins from the military. I desperately hope not.
