Fundies and firebombs

Like nachos and beer, fundies and bombs just seem to go together. What is it with right-wing christians and their light-em-ups? It seems like they're always trying to bomb the shit out of something, usually another country, but even the funeral of one of their own isn't safe from bomb-wielding fundies:

"Even in death, the Rev. Jerry Falwell rouses the most volatile of emotions. A small group of protesters gathered near the funeral services to criticize the man who mobilized Christian evangelicals and made them a major force in American politics -- often by playing on social prejudices. A group of students from Falwell's Liberty University staged a counterprotest.

And Campbell County authorities arrested a Liberty University student for having several homemade bombs in his car."

This is one of Falwell's own, planning to toss a few bombs at anyone who tried to disrupt his funeral. Because exploding bombs aren't at all disruptive. How'd this guy become so well-versed in bomb making anyway? Is it one of the courses they teach at Liberty U to prepare the students for careers as fundie clinic bombers? Who else took the class?

Fortunately intelligence doesn't seem to be a prerequisite of "Bombistry 101". Normally, I don't regard stupidity as a positive trait, but in the case of bomb-throwing fundies it's a good thing because it means they almost always get caught before they can do any damage. I just hope the cops aren't only looking at this dipshit, but all his friends and associates as well... the next would-be clinic bomber could be among them.
